“How to Create a Compelling “Elevator” Speech"

Have you ever struggled in telling someone what it is that you do? Either standing in an elevator next to an important executive from your company or standing at the bar next to an attractive person? Wondering what to say and how to say it?

Like the current Geico auto insurance commercial campaign “Give us 15 minutes can save you 15% on your car insurance”, if you can give us 15 minutes we can help you create that compelling elevator speech.

Al De Veyra and Carl Walsh from the Pasadena Jaycees Toastmasters is on hand giving a presentation on how you can get YOUR elevator speech crafted.

Al De Veyra is a former Pasadena Jaycee. Using compelling elevator speeches he successfully recruited volunteers, raised money and chaired Operation Santa Claus in 2001 where it was recognized as the Best Community Project by the California State Jaycees. He also chaired the Kasukabe Cultural Exchange Program in 2000.

A former software developer, he is currently a nationally certified trainer with a focus on creating exercise programs for stressed out business owners, executives and professionals.

Carl Walsh spent 30 years in the retail industry, starting as part time Christmas help on the sales floor and rising to Director of Information Technology. He also spent 20 years on stage as an actor and director in the theatre. He graduated from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London and co-founded and managed one of Los Angeles's first union sanctioned small theaters for professional actors.

Carl is currently a trainer/coach helping people improve their communications skills and business presentations. He also delivers keynote speeches and workshops for business professionals.
