The Pasadena Junior Chamber of Commerce (nicknamed the “Jaycees”) was founded in 1929 as a civic association for young professionals dedicated to becoming a positive force in the Pasadena community. Nearly a century later, the Jaycees remain true to this founding goal. We are an organization of young people (ages 21–40) in the Pasadena area who want to improve the lives of people in our community through service while developing leadership skills, broadening our network, and making lifelong friends. In addition to leadership training and community service, we host social events throughout the year, volunteer with other organizations, and even travel to Japan!
The Pasadena Jaycees is a branch of JCI (Junior Chamber International) – an international organization of active young citizens dedicated to creating positive change in our respective communities around the world. As a member of JCI, you will get access to trainings and workshops, and connect with Jaycee members from across the US and across the world!
JCI is a worldwide community of young, active citizens who share the belief that in order to create positive change, we must take collective action to improve ourselves and the world around us. Engaging in activities ranging from community development to international projects, members demonstrate their social responsibility and improve themselves through participation, leadership, and action.
The Pasadena Jaycees put on a variety of projects and social events throughout the year, giving members many ways to be involved. Notable projects include our Five Acres Parties for foster children, our Operation Gobbler thanksgiving food drive, our Operation Santa toy drive, and Program Sales at the Rose Bowl Game on New Year’s day.
We hold monthly mixers at local businesses and frequent social events such as hiking, beach trips, spin classes and golf outings. The Jaycees also often volunteer with various charities in addition to our own projects.
The Pasadena Jaycees support a variety of non-profit and local organizations, including, but not limited to: Five Acres, Friends In Deed, Union Station, Los Angeles Food Bank, Pasadena Showcase House for the Arts, and many others. We support foster youth, families, and low-income families in and around the Pasadena area through our community service and outreach projects.
No! In fact, we welcome ANYONE who is curious about becoming a member to attend one of our monthly mixers to meet other Jaycee members and see what we’re all about. We also welcome members from the community to volunteer with our projects!
You do not have to live in Pasadena to become a member. We welcome folks from all cities around the Pasadena area to participate in our events and become members. We have members who live in all different parts of the San Gabriel Valley!
Members of the Jaycees must be between the ages of 21 – 40, though we welcome anyone, regardless of age, to join our mixers and participate in our service projects.
Membership dues are $103 annually, which includes opportunities for social and civic engagement with the community for an entire year, in addition to leadership opportunities, networking, and exclusive discounts.
We offer discounts for couples and groups. Free annual membership is offered to those that participate in our Program Sales event at the Rose Bowl Game every year.
We’re excited you want to join us! We encourage you to attend one of our monthly mixers, held on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at a local business. You can fill out a membership application here, and one of our Board Members will be in touch shortly to answer any questions you may have.
