Irene Guillen, Chairperson of the Board
93rd President

Irene is a Management Support Specialist for the Social Security Administration. She served as 93rd President of the Pasadena Jaycees and is the Chairperson of the Board for 2023. She has previously held the positions of Executive Vice President, Community Director, and Membership Vice President for the Pasadena Jaycees.

Jillian Furiga, Vice President of Marketing and Development

Jillian first found out about the Pasadena Jaycees after volunteering to read letters written to Santa for Operation Santa from local residents during her time in high school and has been passionate about the Jaycees ever since.

When she’s not volunteering with the Pasadena Jaycees, Jillian spends time with her three dogs and fiancé, trying local craft breweries, and crafting.

She is currently reading Spare by Prince Harry, and the Book of the Month for our Jaycees Book Club.

Jared Gonzales, Vice President of Fundraising and Outreach

Jared is the senior paralegal for a medical malpractice firm and joined the Jaycees in 2021.

Drew McWilliams, Treasurer

Growing up in the theatre, Drew learned early in life the joy that connection and community bring. Growing up gay and isolated in a small conservative town, he also learned how important and sometimes life-saving community can be. A naturally outgoing person, he is excited and passionate to be giving back to the community he’s now proud to call home: Pasadena. In his spare time, Drew can be found watching, creating, thinking, and talking about the latest and greatest TV shows. Currently reading: The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller

Drew previously served on the committees for Kasukabe, Fundraising, Op Gobbler Program Sales, and A&I.

Shawn Sauerwein, Membership Director and Secretary

Ms. Sauerwein is an Aerospace Engineer who moved to the West Coast (originally from Oklahoma) in 2018 with her husband. After visiting Pasadena, she fell in love and moved to our beautiful city in 2020. Joining the Jaycees in 2021, she has participated on several committees including Golf Tournament, Kasukabe, Program Sales, and chaired our first back in person OP Santa in 2022. Her passion for leading and augmenting our service projects with the special touches that build community make her a great fit for the 2023 Membership and Secretary Chair!

What I’m Reading: Hell Bent – Alex Stern #2 by Leigh Bardugo
Why I Love It: I am a voracious reader across all genres but I especially love fantasy and fiction. If you like either Leigh Bardugo’s  Book Series or TV Show Shadow and Bone, you’ll love her adult series. I’ve been waiting several years for the sequel to Ninth House to be published! “Wealth. Power. Murder. Magic. Alex Stern is back and the Ivy League is going straight to hell in #1 New York Times bestselling author Leigh Bardugo’s Hell Bent.”
Claire Pukszta, Director of Community

Claire is thrilled to be serving as the 2023 Community Director! Born and raised in Southern California, her passion for the Jaycees runs deep with both parents having been members. Since joining herself, she has been involved in planning A&I, Trivia Night, the Bowling Fundraiser, Program Sales, and Operation Gobbler. Outside of the Jaycees, she works for Disney+ on their Content Planning team. She is also an avid swimmer, trivia night attendee, and lover of fantasy and sci-fi novels.
